On Saturday, December 10, during the 2016 Fall Commencement, I had the honor of inducting 900+ new alumni into the National Alumni Association. A fellow alumna once told me that commencement serves as a recalibration for her every year; a reminder of the true purpose for our much needed support and dedication to our alma mater. It was wonderful to share in the graduates’ overwhelming excitement and hope for the future.
We have extraordinary students who can benefit greatly, not only from our annual giving, but also from mentoring and networking. As we prepare for this season of giving and reflection, I ask that you commit to doing all you can to help make 2017 a record year for alumni giving. Expect more information about several ways you can get involved in this effort.
There was more exciting news shared a few weeks ago when we announced plans for our first Aggie Alumni National Convention, scheduled for the summer of 2018 in Atlanta, GA. This event will give alumni a unique opportunity to be engaged and informed while experiencing the kind of fun only a top convention city like Atlanta offers. Please help us to spread the word and continue to check the Alumni Association’s website for updates.
Enjoy your holiday season with those you hold dear and I wish you a 2017 filled with Peace, Love and Blessings!
With Aggie Pride,
Pam McCorkle Buncum ‘81
